Our guild charter:

Tapestry belongs to the new generation of guild which is small, dedicated, and tightly knit – like the threads of a tapestry.

DownsizingTapestry is proud to have a limited number of guild members who are team players willing to support each other as well as work together on our common goal, namely heroic 10-man Strict raiding.

Moderate Raid Schedule – we acknowledge that real life is out there and takes priority. Most of us have very busy lives and even though we love our game, we need to keep our raiding activities to a dull roar or risk divorce or failing that next exam. For this reason, we’ve tried to create a raid schedule that is less than ~10 hours per week but which also allows us to progress in game with our dedicated members. And this leads into the next point:

Serious About Raiding – with only 10 hours of organized guild raids per week, it’s vital that we make the most of our raids. Our members come prepared to a raid having their consumables ready, their gear repaired, good mood in tow, and ready to rock. When we raid, we are serious about it: know your class, come prepared, be willing to wipe, dust yourself off and get back on that kodo.

Maturity – we are predominantly a guild of working adults and university students. We enjoy being with friends and guild mates in game, good natured jokes and laughter abound. Whining about loot, backbiting, corpse camping or spitting emotes (even on Alliance) will be rewarded with a private chat with an officer. Let’s keep it mature.

Currently, Tapestry’s raiding nights are (all times are server times):

Monday 20:30 – 23:30
Wednesday 20:30 – 23:30
Friday 20:30 – 23:30

EPGP Loot system
Tapestry uses the EPGP system for what we believe to be an optimally fair distribution of drops in guild sponsored raids. EPGP stands for Effort Points/Gear Points. Effort Points (EP) quantify the effort each member put towards the, hopefully common, guild goals. Gear Points (GP) quantify what loot each member got back in return. Loot priority (PR) is computed as the quotient of the two:

PR = EP/GP

The person with the higher PR gets the first say on loot. As a result, the more effort you put the more gear you receive. As a matter of fact, the gear you receive is proportional to the effort you put. EPGP is based on this simple principle. For more detailed information, feel free to read up on it here:

Above and beyond every loot system is common sense. Passing on a bit of gear that you don’t really need in favour of an under-geared guild mate is naturally smiled upon as it promotes the generous nature of the guild we all wish to see on a daily basis. Who knows – it may be you who profits from a guildie’s generosity next time ‘round. Keep your brain switched on while deciding on those epics.

Requirements for Recruitment
The most important thing we look for is someone who is mature, fun to be around, and looking to participate in a fun raiding community. We are looking for long term members, not just a character to fill an empty raid slot. You may have one main character and a maximum of one alt in the guild at any one time.

To be considered for a raiding spot, guild members have to fill certain criteria:

• Be level 80.

• Plan to the best of your ability to raid 3x per week. This is important since we are a small group of dedicated raiders where every member counts and is part of the whole.

• Having experience in a raiding environment is a definite plus, but not a requirement. You’ll learn to swim in deep water soon enough.

• Gear requirements will not be laid down per se, but it is strongly advised that you invest the time and effort in finding the best gear available to you at the time. This includes the best enchants, gems and your spec. Feel free to ask your fellow guild mates for advice and assistance.

• Have the appropriate raiding gear on at raid time. Showing up in a beautiful set of pvp gear for raids will not endear you to your fellows or the officers.

• Have Ventrilo, a microphone, and Deadly Boss Mods. Have these installed and functioning before joining a raid.

• Have the ambition to learn new fights. This game is about learning new fights and going places with your fellow raiders where no guildie has gone before. Take a smile along and the willingness to master a new dance!
